BCI supports growers in identifying solutions to the challenges presented by EU plant protection and MRL regulatory changes.
BCI Deputy Director of Global Access Alinne Oliveira led the U.S. delegation to the Commodity Expert Group (CEG) on Hops meeting in Belgium in November. The meeting took place in Poperinge, Belgium and addressed plant protection and MRL regulatory changes. While CEGs are usually comprised of EU growers only, the CEG on Hops welcomes the participation of U.S. hops as the industry collaborates of plant protection and MRL issues around the world.
BCI’s engagement with CEGs on behalf of the U.S. hop industry is a unique and productive approach to identifying their needs in complying with EU import requirements and addressing minor use gaps in EU plant protection policies.
